ICAN Establishes US Company

April 8th, 2003, St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada.

International Communications and Navigation Ltd. (ICAN) is pleased to announce the establishment of ICAN Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary based in Dallas, Texas, USA.

The US based operation will provide sales, technical support and administration for US customers of ICAN’s Electronic Charting System (ECS) software and related hardware, and US customers of QINSy, Qastor, and other products and services from Quality Positioning Services BV (QPS) of Zeist, The Netherlands.

The company’s General Manager is Scott Nesbitt, an experienced Hydrographic Surveyor, who has many years of experience in marine survey and navigation, including 6 years as a representative of the QPS product lines. Scott will also assist the ICAN team sell and support QPS products in Canada.

According to ICAN President Neil Chaulk, “This move is helping expand ICAN’s geographic markets, as well as the breadth of our product offerings. It is concrete evidence of the strength and vision of ICAN’s partnership with QPS and HITT, and will further support our growing relationships with customers such as the US Coast Guard, US Navy and US Army Corps of Engineers”.

While the internet identity of the new regional office will be ICANInc.com, the operations of ICAN and ICAN Inc. will be closely integrated to create a unified ICAN brand in the market. Contact information for ICAN’s US Regional Office can be found at the bottom of this page.
