software available. ICAN recommends that all Saab R4 AIS Transponder users
upgrade to the enclosed Software Update issued by Saab Transponder Tech AB.
ICAN hereby announces the release of software version 5 for the R4 AIS
Class A system. The release will consist of new software for both the
transponder and the display unit.
The release comes with updated versions of the R4 AIS Class-A system
installation and operator manuals as well as with a new certificate document
set.
It is recommended that the following equipment be used for the upgrade:
- a PC with a USB port
- USB to RS422 I/O Adapter
- R4 Transponder SW update cable (7000 100-179)*
- R4 Display SW update cable (7000 100-181)*
- R4 SW upgrade instructions (PDF included with the SW upgrade
download)
*Update cables are available from Saab -

PC. There is a password on the file which was communicated to you via
e-mail.
