ICAN Announces C-Map CM-93/3 Support

CM-93 Data in ICAN's ECSICAN is pleased to announce the support of CM-93 Edition 3.0 data in our Aldebaran II and Regulus II Electronic Charting System (ECS) products. ICAN has officially passed the “Specification for Minimum Performance” (SMP) as outlined by C-Map. Through the SMP process, ICAN's ECS was tested by C-Map for CM-93/3 data distribution and presentation conventions.

CM-93 works with all other Regulus II and Aldebaran II features such as light level, course up, etc. Some of the key features of CM-93 implemented in ICAN's ECS include:

  • Configurable safety / deep / shallow contours

  • Fully configurable display/ability to save and load multiple display configurations

  • Depth units in feet / meters / fathoms

  • Display in CM-93 or S-52 colours

  • Fully automated live internet update

  • Manual update

  • Update viewer

  • Chart query feature

  • Seamless world coverage

  • Guard zone interaction with contours

  • Tide prediction for 4000+ ports

CM-93/3 charts may be updated by an automatic procedure based on electronic Notices to Mariners sent to the user via e-mail, Internet HTTP, Inmarsat, GSM mobile phone, etc.
