ICAN Part of Team Awarded Canadian Coast Guard Automatic Identification
Systems Infrastructure Project

International Communications and Navigation Ltd. (ICAN), as part of the
Australian
Maritime Systems (AMS) team, is pleased to announce the award of the
contract to supply Automatic Identification System (AIS) network data
display, storage and management software tools to the
Canadian Coast Guard
(CCG). The partnership also includes
C.N.S.
Systems AB who is supplying the AIS Basestations for 98 remote sites and
Compusult Ltd. who
is implementing the AIS Information Technology (IT) infrastructure.
ICAN has been delivering shore-side surveillance solutions to clients
world-wide since 2002. ICAN President Neil Chaulk stated, “the CCG contract

The ICAN shore-side vessel monitoring, surveillance and data management
tools will help support CCG’s fundamental roles of maritime safety,
protection of the marine and freshwater environment, facilitation of
maritime trade and commerce and maritime accessibility, support to science,
support to other government departments and federal maritime priorities,
maritime security and emergency preparedness, sovereignty and federal
presence.
ICAN is also an integral member of the Northrop Grumman NAIS Team
responding to the United States Coast Guard (USCG) tender for Nationwide AIS
(NAIS) infrastructure, providing software for AIS network management and
data management and display. The USCG is expected to award the contract no
later than September 2008.
